In 1974, their works were exhibited together in the “New Japanese Photography” exhibition of MOMA in new york. Around 1982, during the 10th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and China, Ryoji Akiyama received the project of “Photographing Japanese Children”. So he came to China five times before and after, and traveled all over Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hohhot, Urumqi, Harbin and other places.

With his unique perspective, he captured the moment of innocence, vitality and faith of children in China, leaving behind childhood memories of China people belonging to that era. This is not only a precious historical record, but also reflects the charm of China’s life and culture at that time. He took nearly 8,000 color photos, which were compiled and published into a photobook Dear Old Days.

The content of the replica edition of Dear Old Days is completely reproduced in the 1983 edition. The original film 36 years ago is scanned to obtain the original image, and the details and colors of each image are restored to the maximum extent. After several rounds of professional relay to complete the color calibration, Ryoji Akiyama finally confirmed all the images and reproduced 116 high-precision and clear pictures.

From the cover to the inner page, the replica plates are printed on art paper, which is made by Artron Art Printing.
