Leng Bingchuan graduated from Netherlands National Minerva Design and Art College in 1996, and received a doctoral degree at College of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona, Spain in 2016. He has held solo exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Barcelona, etc., and published 16 books, including Greenhouse for Leisure, Lovers in 24 Solar Terms and Boundless Heart.

Leng Bingchuan: Master of Chinese Black and White Painting is the most comprehensive collection of ink paintings he has created so far, containing his 256 works from 1980 to 2000. The uniqueness of these works lies in the fact that the artist innovated his own ‘painting’ method, which he called ‘ink engraving’. The simple and clean carved lines in the works, interspersed with the artist’s unique poetic words, let us have an insight into his straightforward, pure, strong and distinctive artistic characteristics, reflecting the elegance and depth of Chinese art.
